Teaching is required to develop into a mature Christian/believer. The Bible likens the Word of God to milk and solid food which are both essential elements needed for natural growth. The teaching of the Word of God is essential for spiritual growth.
1 Peter 2:2 (AMP) Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation.
Hebrews 5:12 (AMP) For even though by this time you ought to be teaching others, you actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of God’s Word. You have come to need milk, not solid food.
The purpose of being taught finds its foundation in the truth found in the book of Romans 10:9-17 and Hebrews 11:6. It is revealed to us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
We need God’s grace/power to be satisfactory to Him and we can only receive grace by faith. We need men and women who are under the influence of the Holy Spirit to teach the Word of God. The person teaching or preaching must be sent by God and he or she must be anointed by God.
How you will benefit?
The five endowments or giftings that Jesus left us are given by the power of the Holy Spirit and operate through individuals for the purpose of developing the church…TO BE THE CHURCH, by becoming a Body of believers who only say what we hear the Father say and only do what we see the Father do.
Ephesians 4:11 (AMP) And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers.
John 5:19 (ESV) So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.
John 5:30 (MSG) “I can’t do a solitary thing on my own: I listen, then I decide. You can trust my decision because I’m not out to get my own way but only to carry out orders.
The benefits of being taught the Word of God are not only to have a mature body of believers but it will also help each individual live life to the fullest…the way God has predestined for us to live.
Our faith will not operate any higher than the level of our understanding and being taught brings understanding. Many have lost out on victories they should have won because of a lack of clear understanding of the will of GOD.
Teaching and preaching help us to:
- Walk in Love
- Walk by Faith
- Know the will of God
- Have wisdom
- Discern between good and evil
- Know the promptings of the Holy Spirit
- Distinguish God’s voice/thoughts
- Teach others
- Bring Glory to God
- Grow up
- And much more
Your future is bright
The Future for believers in Jesus Christ/Messiah/Anointed One is bright! The Holy Bible lets us know as the time for the return of Jesus gets closer that things for those without God will get darker and more sinful. But where sin abounds the grace of God abounds the more!
Romans 5:20 (Phillips NT) Now we find that the Law keeps slipping into the picture to point the vast extent of sin. Yet, though sin is shown to be wide and deep, thank God his grace is wider and deeper still! The whole outlook changes – sin used to be the master of men and in the end handed them over to death: now grace is the ruling factor, with righteousness as its purpose and its end the bringing of men to the eternal life of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God’s will is for all to be saved!
1 Timothy 2:3-5 (AMP) For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth. For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.
The International Word Center has been assigned to help the Body of believers in Jesus Christ to become an increasingly greater and larger presence in the earth and an accurate representation of God in our character/behavior and in power – with signs and wonders following us everywhere we go.
When you attend an event, watch a video, listen to a recording or read literature that IWC is promoting, our prayers are that you will experience what God intended for you to experience…growing up to the full measure of Christ – The Anointed one Jesus so that you can be like Him.
Mark 4:23-25 (AMP) …. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.
Ephesians 4:13 (AMP) [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.
